Dwarka Progressive Club

With tons of waste being “wasted” every day, Dwarka Progressive Club works on sending back the waste to where it belongs. We work on transforming degradable waste into a beautiful heap of organic manure via composting. Composting is performed at different levels, from creating a compact home composter to Mesh and Pit compositing for RWAs and localities which reduces landfills. The renowned way is Home Composting. Here we transform kitchen waste into compost using a Hoster, which is a 4 foot high device. Made up of natural clay, the hoster provides an odorless and easy method of composting. Pit and Mesh composting are performed at community level and produce an enormous amount of organic high quality manure, weighing anywhere between 200-400 Kgs. The waste to be transformed is bio degradable such as park or agricultural wastes, which ensure the manure to be highly organic. DPC conducts workshops on composting practices, their significance, and benefits to the environment. We can also setup pit composting units within the school premises, which the students then operate and maintain as per their eco-club schedule.
